Or rather, not in the least bit astonishing.

I have to say, it's articles like that which lead me to believe Mel does indeed occasionally deserve her "Mad..." suffix. I've occasionally said "Inshallah" myself, but far less often than "Oy veh", and I'm an Irish Catholic-turned-atheist. Sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar.

This is rubbish. It is not 'value neutral', especially for a body like the BBC. But we knew that anyway, didn't we?
"and I'm an Irish Catholic-turned-atheist. Sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar."
And with all the anti-Semitic baggage you must still carry around with you (you can drag everything out of a Roman Catholic except his anti-Semitism), I don't believe that you can possibly provide a rational response to this piece.
"it's articles like that which lead me to believe Mel does indeed occasionally deserve her "Mad..." suffix"
While Ms. Phillips is certainly not mad, you are without question a cowardly bastard. Then again that also goes with the particular territory you infest.

Wonderful; based on the fact that I don't think saying "Inshallah" means you're a raving anti-Semite, it turns out I'm both a raving anti-Semite myself (that'll be news to the people who think I'm an Israel hawk) _and_ a cowardly bastard.
Have you ever heard of the book "How to Make Friends and Influence People"?
