For the rest of my life, I will regret speaking to Stephen Pollard.

No, it's not an ex of mine. It's David Blunkett.

I will be sharing my thoughts on his diaries later this week...

"For the rest of my life, I will regret speaking to Stephen Pollard."

He does not regret his 'mistakes.' He simply is ticked off that he spilled the beans to the wrong person. I suppose it adds considerable salt to the wound that he will always be remembered as the poor man's John Profumo.

Remembered did I say? In ten years few will be able to recall the name of one of Blair's ministers. In thirty years few will remember Blair. In fifty years this will all be reduced to the oblivion of a chapter in a school textbook. "Within the hollow crown that rounds the mortal temples of a king keeps death his court" etc. etc.
