The LibDem's fragrant antisemite peer, Baroness Tonge, had this to say yesterday:
The pro-Israeli lobby has got its grips on the western world, its financial grips. I think they have probably got a certain grip on our party.
Explain please the difference between her remark and anything contained within The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. (And explain also how a party led by one of the most anti-Israel MPs in recent years is in the 'grip' of 'the pro-Israel lobby'.)
The then plain Jenny Tonge was sacked from the LibDem front bench and then rewarded for her comment that if she was a Palestinian, she would consider becoming a suicide bomber, by being elevated by Charles Kennedy to a lifetime role as a legislator in the Lords.
At the time, she explained her comment thus:
I could understand and was trying to understand where [suicide bombers] were coming from.
Much as I would condemn anyone who decided to scream Antisemitic Bitch at her, I could understand and would try to understand where they were coming from.

Tonge's proudest moment

Yes, that's 'proudest' and 'empathy' and 'bombers'.

Considering how vehement the anti-Israel sentiment is in Britain today (thanks to the BBC, Reuters, The Grauniad, etc.), Jenny Tonge and Claire Short are both "moderate."
Why would the "pro Israel" lobby (the idea that Britain has ever been historically sympathetic towards the Jewish State is laughable beyond words) want to take over the most insignificant party in Britain anyway? I think that Baroness Moonbat has been watching too many showings of the 1962 film "The Manchurian Candidate."
Seriously though I can only come to the conclusion that her anti Israel jihad is based purely and viscerally on good old fashioned Jew hatred - and I do not make that type of charge lightly.
A high-ranking Israeli government official, a man who was an intimate of Ariel Sharon, once asked me how a medical doctor like Tonge could have empathised with suicide bombers and compared Gaza to the Warsaw Ghetto. In reply, I recounted the following story:
"After the Germans captured our city, my father, sister Rivka, and brother Asher fled to Russia. After great suffering, they arrived in the city of Brisk on the Bog River. After a short period, they were exiled to Siberia, where the worked in the forests. My sister Ruth, my mother and myself remained in Zgierz [Poland]. After some time, the Germans separated us. My mother and sister were expelled from the city. I succeeded in returning to Zgierz, however only for a very short period.
At the same time, the Cohen family was together with me (they were related to the Wachs family, the dentist), Tonia, Genia, and their elderly mother. We became quite close. They received small packets from Leon Cohen of France. The Cohen mother never forgot to give me something to taste.
One day, Tonia took ill, and the situation became serious. I and another Jewish girl went to a German doctor who lived in the new houses outside of the city. We requested that he come to the sick person, whose brother in France is also a doctor. He refused and said: “Let her die!†Tonia died the next day, holding in her hand a sugar cube that her brother had sent from France. Her last word was “Leon?†"

Paul Johnson once suggested that the anti-Semite invariably twists enormous Jewish contribution into Jewish control. Tonge appears to be an example of this.
I'm coming from the UK and I would definitely like to scream "anti-semitic bitch" at her. Actually, on reflection it would be better to hiss rather than scream.
