The post below prompts a thought. Use the comments section to say who - groups rather than individuals - you would like so see in the stocks. They don't need to be criminals. Not in the legal sense, anyway!
I'll start: middle class drug takers. Their stocks should be placed outside the crack houses which their habits are inextricably bound up with.

I would like to see the Israeli information service in stocks, every last one of them, for allowing the Arabs to offer a directly translatable English-Arabic news service [thereby spreading their slant on world issues], whereas the Israelis have no such thing. First pages of Google - absolutely no way to get a direct translation English to Hebrew or Hebrew to English. Try it. Go into the Israeli news and press 'translate into English'. Now go into Al-Khayma and voila - instant translation. One would have thought that some of us might like to read the Jewish point of view. Set them in stocks!
"I'll start: middle class drug takers."
Really? Every last smoker and drinker? That's virtually the entire nation you're referring to. Then again, you are talking about Britain, so it might not be such a bad idea after all.
If an adult wants to kill himself in this or that way why should it concern you? (Yes, there are the cost to society/responsibility to family issues, but you can say that about virtually every human activity under the sun from eating too much to climbing mountains).
If any war has been wrong-headed and self-defeating it has been the "war on drugs." "Whatever floats your boat, so long as it doesn't sink anyone else's" should be society's motto.
Po-faced party poopers to the stocks!
The yobs you mention in the post above. And others like them. Idelally left there over night in winter. If they have friends or its not too cold they survive if not not. If they have enemies who pelt them with ice water then they probably don't. - shrug -
If we put the middle class drug takers in the stocks who would run the country while we're pelting them with rotten fruit?
Anyone who appears to regularly read and comment on blogs that they disagree with. A blog is a diary. It's someone else's thoughts and opinions.
Hence, let's start with Joshua.
Drug War Warriors.
It’s the illegality that kills people, not the drugs.
Terrorist apologists (of whom unfortunately there are all too many in both Britain and America).
Hear, hear, mbe! Let's.
