"Skeletons found at an unearthed site in Mexico show Aztecs captured, ritually sacrificed and partially ate several hundred people travelling with invading Spanish forces in 1520."

Forgive me .... and what? Par for the course.

Excellent use could be made of a few of those Aztecs at the upcoming Labour Party Conference.

"Would that be Robin Cook for two, sir?"

Actually that reminds me of a very old Paris Match cartoon.

An African child is chasing a white boy around a large cooking pot. Mother to African child: "How many times have I told you not to play with your food."

Brutal as the Spanish Conquista was, I can't help feeling that if it led to the extermination of the Aztec priesthood it can't have been all bad.

Given what Spain had done to the Jewish people, I think they were about equal in the morality stakes. Would that the Aztecs had been able to travel to Spain and then they could have wiped each other out.
