No this confuses me. I'm a Zionist and would be proud to stand with the people of Israel. But I'm also opposed to peace with terrorists. Can I turn up and stand just off to the side?
What's it doing all the way up there? That's barely even in London...
This is so Anglo-Jewish.
Will someone please explain to me the point of North West London Jews gathering in the hall of a Jewish school in North London for the kids of all the expected attendees, to repeat the same half-formulated opinions and denouncements of the media etc to each other and then smugly pat themselves on the back for having done 'something' to show soildarity with terror victims and voice their frustration without having caused too much of a 'scene' which might reflect negativly on the community. Who on earth outside Golders Green and Edgware will care enough even to mock this event, let alone discuss it?
The 'Stand Up For Israel' rally in Trafalgar Square in 2002 could have been a turning point in Anglo-Jewish self-confidence, but the political capital and emotional momentum was at best squandered (at worst sabotaged), by the the self-congratulating aloofs of the BoD and other feigning, opaque and unaccountable organisations, who, wary of their positions, perpetute the unspoken historical maxim of the leadership since the Board's inception in 1760 of keeping your head down and not making waves. Embarassing.
