My point is that as far as I can see this particular report had three choices:
1)"Barghouti has announced his intention to stand for the presidency..." - Barghouti, who he?
2)"Barghouti, jailed by Israel for (insert complete list of criminal convictions here) has announced..." - and have we got time to put anything else in this news report?
3)Some compromise in between - I can only conclude that "leading the intifada" is not an acceptable compromise because the correspondent/Mr Pollard/Melanie Phillips don't think the "leading the intifada" does enough to convey the scale of his crimes - which is strange considering they considered Yasser Arafat to be the biggest criminal in Palestine basically because he led a Palestinian intifada for 40 years.

Another area of BBC bias is the lefty war against men. The BBC never loses an opportunity to lay the blame for all of societies ills at feet of men. The radical feminists at the BBC are very skilled at this. Last summer in a trailer for a national quiz program that sets men against women, Anne Robinson did a voice over. Every time a picture of a man can on the screen it was acompanied by a negative vox comment and vice versa for a female picture. For example: Pic of a man. Voice over, "Worst enemy." Pic of a woman. Voice over, "Best friend." This amounts to broadcasting subliminal messages which is banned by the broadcasting act and the BBC charter.
Now I notice that men are being associated with the smacking of children in the latest lefty campaign at the BBC. Its all very subtle but it is also very dangerous. Watch the news and see how many items begin with the words, "A man was arrested today..." Or, "A violent attack by men...." Etc. According to the BBC women rarely commit any form of crime at all and those they do are rarely worth reporting on. Sometimes they are forced to report a violent female (as with the recent 40 strong attack on a single girl by a girl gang in a school) but most of the time they just ignore the failings of the female sex.
