Road pricing in itself is a good idea and has some merit. However in a period of steeply rising taxes, its becomes just another tax - not as it should be, another way of raising the same tax and tackling congestion - and my overriding concern as a Conservative, is for low tax and a vibrant economy.

Oh and now that Labour have got rid of freedom of speech, thought and assembly - and are attacking property rights (right to roam, land reform in scotland, compulsory tenants in empty properties) maybe road charging could be a neat way of curtailing our right to freedom of movement too.
