Leave Carr alone

With all the concentration on the faked Mirror pictures, another example of grotesquely irresponsible tabloid behaviour seems to have escaped without much comment: the feeding frenzy over Maxine Carr. Today's papers are full of it.

Ian Huntley was clearly an evil murderer and should, in my view, have been hanged. But Maxine Carr was not, by any reading of the case, evil. She was - is - a stupid, easily led woman. But she is not evil and she is not a murderer.

She was properly sentenced and has served her time. She was not given the life sentence which some newspapers' behaviour has now imposed on her.

If, God forbid, she ends up a victim of vigilante justice then her blood will be on the hands of everyone who is now hounding her. She should be left alone to live out the rest of her sorry life. That is the meaning of the word 'justice'.

Ever since Myra Hindley died, there's been a vacancy for an Evil Childkilling Woman on the red tops. Poor dim Maxine is the best carrion the vultures can find in the absence of a real murderess. With luck they can keep this pot boiling for 50 years.

Surely the vacancy for an evil childkilling woman could have been filled by Louise Woodward - eerie theattitude to her of the gutter press cf. Maxine, eh? Oh, the press at soham were clearly guilty of "conspiring against justice" ie, contempt of Court by lying re Maxine likely to prejudice a fair trial, but it seems the Attorney General is too cowardly to fine the press their ill-gotten gains from lies about Holly/Jessica made just to cash in. .

On the topic of vigilantes & tabloids let`s not forget how innocent families with kids received death threats, firebombings, near-killings, etc, as their addresses were "Named & Shamed" by the News Of The World in 2000 for being where paedophiles lived!! NOTW Editor then was Rebekah Wade, they were sued but mysteriously escaped prosecution for causing a public nuisance. Worse, Wade is considered "exceedingly well-connected socially" & is now SUN editor, spending a lot of time bitching Maxine Carr, who is evidently nowhere near as bad as Wade.

Poor girl was sucked in. When a woman is totally besotted with a man, she will believe and do anything to please. To make a point, if my wife did something outrageous but told me a line I would believe her and do and say anything she wanted and would easily end up like poor Maxine.
I was nearly jailed because of my previous wife's behaviour. My attention at the time was focused on my two girls. It was only due to a conciensious neighbour that prevented me from getting a long prison sentense. Instead she got one but we all had to move because most people believe in the 'No smoke without fire' theory and that is wrong.

Anyway, I would appreciate some contact if possible.

I live in Waterbeach which is only a few miles from Soham.
