My biggest beef with these guys is that you never really know what they believe in, and what they want. Every article they write is full of fogeyish plague-on-both-your housese dismissals of the Tories as out of touch and the Labour party as reactionary, and fatuous end paragraphs blaming the media and demanding that everybody JUST GROW UP.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that Living Marxism was named in order to create confusion with the CPGB's Marxism Today. The RCP set up a whole range of front organisations with suspiciously similar names to existing campaigning organisations: the LM/MT thing was just an aspect of their whole m.o.

And although the CPGB had effectively become a social democratic party by the time of its demise, the RCP had become a kind of weird take on a libertarian party by the time it disbanded.
