Michael Moore on Start The Week:

I can't imagine anything more abhorent than voting for a general, but that's what I'm going to do.

Nothing more abhorent? Nothing?

You might have added it's just so typical of BBC current affairs programmes to give airtime to a left wing posturer with a proven track record of - shall we say - disingenuousness? But what other sort of American opinion could they tolerate?

Surely Moore's daily view of himself in the mirror as he gets dressed must be more abhorrent than anything imaginable.

I didn't hear the remark, I'm afraid. I had to turn the radio off after a couple of minutes of the ghastly charlatan. What particularly grates was the obsequious tone of the other participants. You expect that from Andrew Marr, but I did rather hope that one of the others might break the overarching self-congratulatory atmosphere. Curiously, about six months or so ago, Moore was on promoting Bowling for Columbine and there was one person happy to puncture the liberalist lovefest - none other than Michael Portillo. We'll miss him when he's gone.

Portillo gone? You're joking aren't you? We're only just at the start of his career as celebrity politician, commentator, journalist, chat show host, radio presenter, documentary maker, author, and all-round media tart. Move over Tony Benn...

I reckon Portillo was offered Kilroy-Silk's show and couldn't resist...

I wouldn't read too much into this. Moore's prose is full of such poorly-edited hyperbole and cant. God knows how the twit ever got to where he is - his writing style is beastly and almost totally devoid of factual content.

There are quite probably little mites in his ill-kempt beard, feasting on the now quite racid remains of last tuesdays breakfast but voting for a General, now that's beyond the pale. Even a failure of epic proportions as Clark.

Clark is not competent to be General. (In Kosovo he was an Army general in an air campagne) He was fired by the Clinton's for Pete's sake. Yet he's the Clinton machine candidate for president. He's merely a tool, a place holder for Hilary to enter the campaign in 2004.

Therefore, Moore is doubly idiotic. Perhaps that awful beard hides froth as well as mites.
