The Guardian - all too believable

I would say this is beyond belief. But since it's in The Guardian, it's all too believable:

Welsh pensioner turns freedom fighter
Ex-bank manager defends Palestinian suicide bombers

Note that the headline is not a quote; at no point in the article are the words 'freedom fighter' uttered. It's not ironic. It's just a straightforward headline, expressing what the Gaurdian takes to be a commonplace view - that suicide bombers are freedom fighters.

Anne Gwynne, the woman concerned, may be beyond redemption as a civilised human being - she thinks the murder of twenty-three people in Tel Aviv in January was right in principle, and was merely "a strategic mistake" - but the Guardian's behaviour is in some ways still more reprehensible. Ms Gwynne's evil views are not merely presented without criticism or proper questioning; they are endorsed. And that is, in its own way, also evil.
