How dare you eat that burger

Almost as good as a national walking strategy, but a lot more insidious: the once-fashionable think tank demos (lower case, of course) is proposing to tax Macdonalds and Burger King out of existence. "Fatty, highly processed and fast foods" should, according to their latest pamphlet, attract large extra taxes and the money raised should be used to promote fruit and vegetables. "Many families, particularly those on low incomes, are not eating properly and there is no incentive to eat fruit and vegetables. We believe the tax system could be changed to encourage healthier eating in the same way that it is used to discourage people from smoking and drinking."
In the same way? As in, do they mean, having no effect whatsoever on tobacco addiction amongst those who are most hit by excessive tobacco and alcohol duties: the poor?
Just brilliant, comrades. Keep up the good work.
